The back story behind the Halo 3 terminal locations is that the Forerunners have stored information there about their survival and their plan to fire the Halo rings. The Forerunners are a race that were first mentioned in the original Halo game. The story goes that they formed an empire more than 100,000 years before the events of the Halo story arc. The human race is related to the Forerunners and thus can reclaim the keys to activate the Halo network. Naturally finding the location of all of the Halo 3 terminal locations is key to the story arc.
There are three Halo 3 terminal locations found on the first level called the Ark. The first of these is found as soon as you walk inside. There’ll be a door to the left, which is entered to find the first of the terminals. The second terminal on this level is found inside the structure that allows the tanks across the bridge of light. The terminal can be found directly behind the bridge controls. The final terminal on this level is very difficult to spot. After battling a scarab you enter into a huge structure, directly following the structure is a door and a staircase which lead to the next room. The final terminal is under the staircase.
Another place to find Halo 3 terminal locations is on the level the covenant where there are three terminals. The first of these terminals, overall terminal four, is accessed via the elevator leading to the tower controls. Jump from elevator platform to the platform directly across from it – the terminal is there. Terminal five is accessed via a hornet vehicle, which you use to fly towards Tower two. Wait for the voice to tell you that Tower two is already clear, that’s a reminder that you’re going in the right direction. The terminal is inside the tower. The final terminal on this level, terminal six, is in the third tower. Jump to the platform you find there to find this terminal.
