Halo Trailer Long-Awaited Ago

{When the long-awaited sequel to the Halo series, Halo 3, was about to be released the Halo 3 trailer was in great demand|People who waited for the release of the highly anticipated Halo 3 jumped on the Halo 3 trailer.  In reality there were a number of trailers for the game -  some posted on Xbox Live, some posted on YouTube, some posted on Bungee’s website, but altogether they received over 100 million views. Any aspiring top network television show would kill for those kinds of numbers. It’s a testament to the popularity of the series, and the expectations of fans as they waited for the final installment of the original trilogy.

There is good reason that so many people wanted to see the Halo 3 trailer.  One of them was that Bungee had announced that this would be the final game in the original trilogy series, as such people were anxious to see how the series would end.  The trailer might contain clues and information about the mystery of the Halo rings, and the Forerunners who had created them.  People watched it as they might watch an episode of popular television mystery series like Lost, or CSI. It represented a crossover between the world of videogames, an interactive entertainment, and the world of passive entertainment represented by television and the movies.

When the game finally released people were not disappointed by what they had originally seen in the Halo 3 trailer.  Not only did Halo 3 continue the story, continue the excellent first-person shooter combat represented by the Golden triangle of Halo, and continue the excellent console first-person shooter play represented the entire Halo series, but it added a number of new wrinkles. One of these was that for the first time a player maps could actually be edited and then made available to the public to play on a server via Xbox Live.  This turned out to be a wildly popular feature of Halo 3.

Where are some of the places where the Halo 3 trailer can still be found?  When dealing with videos online it’s always a good bet to check YouTube – that’s a place where one of the trailers, the Gamedaily trailer shown on Monday night football on December 4, 2006, can be seen.  For some who still may not have the game this is an excellent way to take a look at what the action will be like when you play.  It shows a little bit of the gameplay, a little bit of the storyline, and a whole lot of the Master Chief using some of the far future fighting tools that he has at his disposal.

Frag Carefully,
Michael
